1. About AICTE – IDEA Lab

JSS Academy of Technical Education, Noida has been selected one among 49 colleges (Phase-1) across India by the All-India Council of Technical Education, New Delhi on 14 th June 2021 (Monday). The objective was to set up an AICTE - IDEA Lab with total project cost of amount Rs. 110 Lakhs with the aim of providing an opportunity to facilitate the students and faculty members of our Institution to engage, explore, experience, express and excel as desired by the Hon'ble Prime Minister in the wake of National Educational Policy 2020.

Objectives

To facilitate translation of an idea into a prototype.

To provide training in 21st century skills – Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Collaboration, Communication, Life Long Learning, etc.

To facilitate Project Based Learning, Designing, Simulation, and Testing under one roof.

To promote Multidisciplinary Education and Research.

To encourage students for Start-ups, Internships, Project’s Funding, and Consultancy Projects.

To be an integral part of AICTE IDEAL Lab Network (IDEALNET).

Mission

M1:Create an Inspiring Ambience to Nurture Innovative Ideas, to Implement Project- Based Learning and to Develop Innovation Driven Products.
M2:Develop an Ecosystem to Work Closely with Indian Rural Masses, Industries and Entrepreneurs.
The purpose of IDEA Lab is to provide all facilities under one roof, for conversion of Ideas into Prototypes. With these, in-campus facilities, more students and faculty will be encouraged to take up creative work and, in the process, get training on creative thinking, problem solving, collaboration etc which conventional labs are not able to achieve generally. The focus will be on training students on Industry 4.0 skills so that they become imaginative, creative and stay at par with International workforce. The whole idea is to transform engineering education by connecting different stakeholders with IDEA Lab, organizing training sessions for interested students, carrying collaborative projects etc. It is to be noted that different stakeholders here are Students, Faculty, Management, Industry and Society.

AICTE- IDEA Lab Location @ JSSATEN:

The AICTE-IDEA Lab at JSSATEN has a total built-up area of 3633 sq.ft which is divided into different section as follows:

Mechanical & Electrical Section: AB2-213 - 2^nd floor. Built up area of this section is 1221 sq.ft.
Electronics & Simulation Section: Amenity Centre, 1 st Floor. Built up area of this section is 1134 sq.ft.
Conference Room, AB2-212 – 2 nd Floor. Built up area - 1278 sq.ft.

Facilities

Institute is located in the central place of small start-up companies, design houses, innovation & entrepreneurship centres and is in the good proximity to industries for collaborations. The National Capital Region (NCR) has become the preferred location for manufacturing companies, so that it gives a lot of potential to train and promote manpower in manufacturing sector that will contributes towards Atmanirbhar Bharat (आत्मनिर्भर भारत) which translates to 'self-reliant India' or 'self-sufficient’ India.

IDEA Lab will provide all facilities under one roof, for conversion of an idea into reality or to say, prototypes. The IDEA need not be always new (which will always be encouraged) but the emphasis would be on graduating engineers working with their hands using equipment, tools and consumables as listed below.

Awards / Achievements

JSS Academy of Technical Education, Noida AICTE-IDEA Lab team consisting of Mr. Satyamitra Gupta, Ms. Tanisha Agarwal and Mr. Shivam Patel, all from B.Tech, ECE-3 rd year have secured an 1 st position in the AICTE IDEA Lab Students Ambassador Innovation Challenge (a flagship event of ABESEC AICTE-IDEA Lab) held on 18 th and 19 th November, 2022.
